It's Christmas Eve & I'm sitting here by the fire in my new pjs, watching a Christmas Story & listening to Zack snoring on the monitor... it's a wonderful life!! He opened his very first present (EVER!) tonight & it was just as exciting as I had pictured it for the last few months :)

December has honestly been a roller coaster for me this year & I've gone from being super excited about this guy's first Christmas (!!!!!) to missing some family members terribly in a single day :(... over & over & over again.  I'm sure lack of sleep isn't helping anything either but it really comes down to the fact that I miss them.  I miss decorating the tree with them, & baking cookies with them, & getting orange julius @ the mall with them, & sharing all those other small magical moments that happen this time of year with them.  My parents did a great job making Christmas special & I hope I can do the same for this little guy.

It's such a different feeling being a parent this time of year & so I'm focusing on that now...  I can't wait to see his face in the morning!!!! & I'm sure the excitement will grow even more each year as this guy gets older & starts to understand what's going on & counting down the days with me.

 I can't wait to decorate the tree with him, go shopping for presents with him, bake cookies with him, & make our own traditions & memories... like our Christmas Eve movie & pj night!
